Grant Opportunities for Interfaith Programs
It has become increasingly clear that peace on our world will depend on greater understanding and respect among the world’s great religious traditions and communities. The legacy of persecution, intolerance and war need to give way to a civilization where people of different faiths are curious about each others’ beliefs and gain invaluable first hand experience of each others’ history, traditions, practices, and cultural expressions. Travel to places of great religious and historical importance is unparalleled in its ability to transform people’s perspectives by deepening knowledge, nurturing the spirit & broadening perspectives.
Through a private gift, illume provides matching grants for The Heritage of Three Faiths in Spain. Funds can be used in the following ways:
- For a per person reduction in cost of the program
- For stipends to be used to engage pre-program speakers
- For arranging pre-program events
- For stipend for on-tour scholar or religious leader
- To arrange for special events in Spain
- To develop pre-program educational materials
